How do you know if you blow a head gasket?

If you check your oil dipping stick and it looks milky or like mud instead of oil, its blown. Water and coolant is mixing with your oil. Also check ur muffler and see if thre is water comming out of it. Check for a an acute squirt or drip not the condensation from heat and cold weather.
