What is a low serve in badminton?

If you serve low, then the opposing team cannot automatically smash it right back into the court. A smash is a fast downward shot. By hitting it low, you immediately take away their ability to do that, but instead might force them to hit it upward. This then opens up your opportunity to begin smashing/being offensive.
