John F. Kennedy, in a speech on May 25, 1961, proposed a manned moon landing by the end of that decade. President Richard M. Nixon spoke to Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, and Michael Collins during the first moon landing on July 21, 1969. In a famous speech by John F.
