How did Mary Higgin clark start writing?

Mary Higgins Clark began writing after her first husband passed away, leaving her as a single mother with five children to support. She started writing radio scripts and eventually moved on to writing short stories and novels. Her debut novel, "Aspire to the Heavens," was published in 1969 under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott.
