The Yankees weakness in the 1980's into the 1990's was pitching. The best pitcher the Yankees had in the early 1990s would have to be Jimmy Key but he did not start pitching for the Yankees until 1993. In 1993 , and 1994 Key won 18, and 17 games. In 1995 an injury kept him to one win. The Yankees didn't have any other pitchers that would stand out during this time. Scott Sanderson won 16 games in 1991 with a 3.81 era, and 12 wins 4.92 ERA in 1992.
