The largest oil tanker in the world is the Knock Nevis, a supertanker that measures approximately 458.45 meters (1,504.1 feet) in length and has a deadweight tonnage of around 564,763 metric tons. Built in 1979 and originally known as Seawise Giant, it was the largest ship ever constructed. The Knock Nevis was designed to transport crude oil in massive quantities, making it a significant asset in the shipping industry. It was scrapped in 2010.
