Don't buy any programs. For Mac, connect your iphone or any camera. Find your pictures folder, right click and go to 'more.' Then select 'automator' and select 'create workflow.'

Click 'photos' under 'Library,' double-click 'download pictures' and then on the right in the 'download pictures' window make sure it shows your phone and photos. Then, in the far upper right, click 'run.' You're all set. Your pictures will be transferred to your pictures folder in your hard drive.
