Do writers really revise what they write?

Good writers revise and edit. Professional writers constantly think of better ways to say things, or try different methods of doing a scene. Writers who don't edit and revise are lazy writers who probably never sell their work.

Good Lord, I spend half my time reading and revising scenes!
