Yes, all vertebrates have a backbone.

Birds are unusual because they have very flexible necks (usually), which is important for preening (they don't have hands or paws, and feathers require upkeep), but for energy-efficient flight they need perfectly rigid backs, so their mid/lower spine is rigid, and the upper spine highly flexible. You can explore this yourself during Thanksgiving. :-)
