In the United States, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is primarily responsible for border security. Within DHS, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) plays a key role in enforcing Immigration laws and facilitating lawful trade and travel across the borders. Other agencies, such as the Coast Guard, also contribute to border security efforts.
