Ozone is produced in the troposphere by violet or more energetic light, NOx from infernal combustion engines, VOCs from natural and manmade sources, and oxygen in the air.
So we could:
- thicken the atmosphere with particulates, so that the sky was red (or just dark) during the day. Or, stop flying aircraft high in the atmosphere, so the ozone up high would reduce the incident energetic radiation.
- use fuel cells, steam engines, electric cars, or mass transit... all of which will stop or reduce NOx emissions.
- anything else ends life on Earth
