What did colonial shoemakers wear?

A shoemaker was a skilled trade, and while he (or in a couple of instances, she) would not have been rich, a shoemaker made a stable living and was necessary in a society which had no mass produced goods and relied upon products that were made by hand. Homes of tradesmen would not have been elegant, but they would have been comfortable, and include a workshop that enabled the shoemaker to repair or make footwear for customers.
