YES you can.
Herpes is very rarely passed to new babies.
The risk of passing herpes on happens when the mother has any signs or symptoms of a genital herpes break out as she goes into delivery.
Doctors like to prescribe antiviral medication (some are safe to take during pregnancy) a few weeks before the baby is due to help prevent break outs.
If there are no signs or symptoms of a break out then the mother is safe to have a natural birth with having very little risk of passing herpes to the baby.
In ordeer to completely eliminate the risk of passing herpes to the baby the mother can have a c-section, but this can be very risky and should be talked over between the mother and her doctor or prenatal care provider.
