Does the lottery machine check your raffle number at the shop?

We had 6 numbers come up and had the ticket checked in Sainsburys. A little receipt flew out of the machine saying "Please contact Lottery HQ." The woman said you must have won over £5000. Luckily we won more than that so hopefully you will see the ticket fly out of the machine some day!!
