How high should you install a co alarm?

Most CO alarms are designed to be placed the same way as smoke alarms: within about a foot of the ceiling on a vertical wall or directly on the ceiling at least a foot from the wall. CO is slightly buoyant in air, so it mixes with a tendency to rise and accumulate in a ceiling layer.
