How do you update Minecraft client?

(The following is as of minecraft 1.7.3) Minecraft automatically updates it self when loading up (in both the download version and the browser version). If you're still having trouble or are referencing a mod, before logging in, click options, then choose force update. Another possibility is that you're computer is set not to update it.
