What did Tudors sleep on?

On the night before your beheading would you sleep or stay awake? To me sleep is one of life's great pleasures, but then there's the thought "you can sleep when your dead". They showed Anne praying all night. But I believe that was the second night after her execution was delayed. I would try to sleep and might if I was truly resigned to my fate, but would probably spend the night trying to figure a way to weasel out of it. Much like how I now do when face with a trip on an airplane!
