How do you beat barbarian villages in evony?

Scout them to find out what the defenses are and then attack accordingly.

You need about 10 archers for each archer tower

1 warrior per trap

Don't send calvary if there are abatis. Not worth it

Ballistas or other heavy equipment to break walls.

For regular forces, just use the "excercise" option in the Rally Point to find out what you need to win.

Add the two sets of numbers together and you should have a pretty good estimate of what you need to win.

FYI: If you have a pile of seige weapons, you can usually just throw those at the city with transports to carry out the loot. But always send at least one pike, sWord and archer as fodder. It will reduce your losses dramatically. (use the excerise and you'll see)

I only attack level 5 NPCs. You can attack them without losses by using 500 ballistas and 500 transports. Actually, with a decent hero you can usually win with 350 ballistas. A level 5 NPC will give you 3 million food plus a bunch of other resources. It takes 12 hours to rebuild its resources so you can hit it twice a day if you want to get a steady source of cheap resources.
