Did Luther agree to recant

Martin Luther did not agree to recant his teachings at the Diet of Worms in 1521. When pressed to retract his writings, he famously declared, "Here I stand, I can do no other," affirming his commitment to his beliefs and the authority of Scripture over church tradition.
