The women had smaller portions of food, the women couldn't go to school, the women were seen as inferior, and the men could do as they please. However, the men were required to take on a lot of roles such as the only worker in the family, they had to take part in politics, and they were seen as the head of the house (any scandals fell on their shoulders).
