Why did Corinthians become Christians?

That is a very good question. The shortest answer would be because they heard the Good News and repented. They had many quarrels within the church over various reasons. Paul wrote them letters to encourage them. They heard about Jesus and repented. I would suggest reading the two books of Corinthians which will give you a more in depth answer.
