How do you change a thermostat in a 1996 Chevy 2500 with a 6.5 liter diesel?

Remove the water hose from the top of your 1996 Chevrolet 2500 thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Lift the old thermostat out and drop in the new thermostat.
