The barra, or barramundi (Lates calcarifer), is a species of fish that can grow quite large, typically reaching lengths of 1 to 1.5 meters (3 to 5 feet) and weighing up to 60 kilograms (132 pounds). Some exceptional individuals have been recorded even larger. They are found in various habitats, including rivers, estuaries, and coastal waters in regions of Australia and Southeast Asia.
