We breathe in more oxygen than we exhale. During inhalation, oxygen from the air is absorbed by our lungs and transported to our bloodstream, where it is used for cellular respiration. In contrast, we exhale carbon dioxide, which is a byproduct of this metabolic process. Therefore, the concentration of oxygen in inhaled air is higher than that in exhaled air.
