Bartolome Ferrelo explored the northern coast of California during his expedition in 1540. He was part of a Spanish exploration mission that aimed to find a strait to the Pacific Ocean. Ferrelo is particularly known for mapping parts of what is now known as the California coastline, including areas around present-day Point Reyes and the San Francisco Bay. His journey contributed to the early European understanding of California's geography.
