Uses of information communication technology

I suppose the good effects would be increased availability of information, an increase in the range of methods of communication, a reduction in the price of communication, an increase in productivity in certain areas, lower costs in distributing or publishing your work, the use of computers and simulation in areas such as understanding the genome, or researching possible cures for cancer which may be too complex to do without computer assistance.
