Does metamucil help with stomach noises?

I don't believe it does. in fact I think it can cause stomach noise. I have had awful stomach noises and been embarrassed in public so I stopped taking Metamucil and so far the sounds have stopped. Stomach nose comes from too much gas which can be caused by Metamucil or other foods.
