Does motivation come from within a person or is it result of situation?

motivation can comes within a person where he/she has a goal. when you have a goal you will working really hard on it. motivation can also result of a situation eg. someone loving had died, family suddenly becomes bankrupt etc. this will make a person become motivated and strike for his/her goals.
