Globalization has helped media to be more effective in forming public opinion. Also, the way news is presented makes it more effective. Mass media engages in agenda setting which determines what is newsworthy and what isn't. Framing is another technique used by media. It is a way the news is portrayed in which it is meant to influence public opinion and is often used to sway the public to favor one political candidate over another.
