A monarchy works by the head of the royal family(king or queen) rules as head of state, they make all the rules and laws. To become the queen or king you must inherit it. This is done by ether being the oldest boy in the family or being the oldest daughter if there is no boys. Once they have been appointed as queen or king they have to rule for life. Monarchy is also one of the oldest types of government. It can also be taken down by a revolution, like in Russia. In a constitutional monarchy the queen or king has laws affecting what they can and cant do. Goods of a monarchy: well in a constitutional monarchy the laws will affect what the monarch will do so the changes will be good if they are made, people don't have to vote and lastly because it is quicker because only one person has to make the rules. Negatives of a monarchy: it will be easily thrown over by a revolution if the whole country gets together, people don't have a choice who rules and lastly laws could be bad because they might not know what people want. Hope it helps. TG
