Why is Moore's Law important in the evolution of information systems?

The Law of More states that ;

Every 2 years, CPU capacity and power doubles.

So in the study of computers, this means that in 40 years we could have a CPU printed on a single molecule and it would have the calculation power from all computers now, together.
