Why must a mountain climber wear an oxygen mask?

because your way up high and their is not much atmosphere in the trophosphere and statoshpere so it could help wearing a mask to have to brethe! heavy clothes? not much gravity you need to weigh more then the usual on mountains or it will be so far but so close related to the moon!
