Who would win out of a race of a lion and a tiger?

A lion will probably outrun the tiger, if the tiger will chase a lion.

Lions are braver so they don't run away from a fight. If they will chase one another, a lion will win a race.

Why?

Tiger is heavier so it has to carry more weight on him. Lions have longer paws and will easily outrun the tiger.
