Even under the best of circumstances, with the help of doctors, dieticians, personal trainers etc it'd be really hard to lose 50 lbs in a month. That's more than 1.5 lb/day, and many would be very happy to lose that in a week.
If you were to try to do it through exercise alone - assuming your diet is otherwise spot on - you'd have to work off something like 6000 calories a day, that's about trebling a normal daily usage.
It'd mean spending 10-12 hours a day, constantly on what would normally be considered mid/high intensity workout.
It's the kind of calorie usage a soldier might see, marching with full kit, the whole day.
