Did white people in 1945 hate black people?

Some white people did, the majority of people who discriminated against black people in that era did so, not out of hate but out of fear; fear of the unknown and fear of losing power to the black population.

In February 1909, the NAACP was was founded to bring legal and political power to bear against the discrimination endured by black Americans, the continuing horrific practice of lynching and the 1908 race riot in Springfield, Illinois. Many white Americans joined or supported this organization. The organization and the Civil Rights Movement had been working for many years by the time WWII ended in 1945 and the NAACP and many other organizations, most of which included whites, were ready to push the movement forward.

1945 was before civil rights, and not many generations away from the Civil War and slavery. Many of the white population were educated to see blacks as either property or scum.

Hate is taught and there were a lot of white people who were to taught to hate blacks and not let the black Apple spoil the group of whites, basically known as White power. There was the KKK back then and KKK was white.

To say white people hated black people is going a bit far, many whites did look at the blacks as lesser people however.
