Can you wear palazzo pants to a formal wedding?

Absolutely! I am planning to wear mine to a wedding in May but right now looking for a black top ... preferably a Trapeze style top to balance my hips with my broad shoulders. I am petite too (5'2") but size 12/14 so you see my dilemma? Trying to cover the muffins etc ... lol

I am planning to wear my pants with high wedge sandals. The pants are really wide with tiny permanent pleats and have an all over tiny print. A plain black top with a V neck or cowl is what I am looking for.
