When people get buried do they wear shoes?

It all depends on the family. there is no religious angle pro or con. As the half-open or (playing card) presentation of the casketed body is most common-often shoes are omitted. Many people are buried barefoot . The Empress Elisabeth of Austria was in this category- and her robes were done up about her legs covering the area completely, There is a nice picture of her ( In Heaven) on the l908 Austrian Monarchy l00Corona, she is wearing ( naturally) an Empire gown. On the other hand if the casket is open full length- usually some sort of footwear is advisable- but floor length dresses can be used and triced up. as was done with Elisabeth, and also Sarah Bernhardt (who had had one leg amputated in l9l4).
