Why does hair and teeth grow on cysts on the ovaries?

Cysts on the ovaries, particularly dermoid cysts (teratomas), can contain various types of tissue, including hair, teeth, and other structures, because they originate from germ cells that have the potential to develop into different tissue types. These cysts form when these germ cells fail to develop properly and instead grow into complex structures. The presence of hair and teeth in such cysts is a result of this abnormal growth process. However, not all ovarian cysts contain these tissues; it is specific to certain types of cysts.
