Why do people want to be ruled by a dictator?

Communism ideally promotes equality.This sort of a political system is highly appealing to the general public because it puts everyone at par despite differences in their social standing.Communism is also anti tyranny and anti monarchy, which does put a lot of people at ease as they can embrace their liberty and individuality.Communism aims at a self governed society in which wealth is uniformly distributed.
