-for 16:9 aspect ratio the width would be around 36.5 in, plus the boarder of the TV

-for 4:3 aspect ratio the width would be around 33.6 in, plus the boarder of the TV

Geometry-

- 16x9, the hypotenuse = 18.36

- hypotenuse of a 42in tv is 42

- the ratio b/t the TVs is 42/18.36 or 2.28

-width of 16:9 TV = 16, 16(2.28) ~ 36.5
