If a man says he has deep feelings does this mean the same as love?

No, it means he really likes you- he more than likes you. You have become very special for him by now, he enjoys spending time with you and thinks of you many times in the day. He worries about you and cares for anything that deals with you, however he is not yet in love with you. Love is a big Word and huge feeling for guys. If everything goes on well he may fall in love with you soon, however not now. He cares but he doesn't love you for now... I am a man, and I would only say that if I loved a woman. I would use "deep feelings" as a way of not scaring her, as for some reason many people consider "love" to be a possessive or containing Word.
