What kind of help did the Gestapo get from ordinary citizens?

The Gestapo were helped mostly by civilians who sympathized with the Nazi causes or would surrender information for the right bribe from the government.

Although there is only limited documentation for this, some sources suggest that several Judenrat councils in German Jewish ghettos might have sold out fellow Jews to the Nazis in order to avoid death in the concentration camps.
