What did she Write About?Anne received the diary as a birthday present from her parents in 1942 and named her diary "Kitty". In her diary she wrote about concerns she had for her family and the horrors of the war. She also described how hard it was to survive in such a small space and about the normal hopes and dreams of a teenager.
