Why does a car do clicking sound in the engine when doing effort?

It is called "pinging". This happens when the ignition timing is out. The timing needs to be set by a mechanic to eliminate this noise.

I would help also if we knew what year, make and model vehicle you have. Depending on that, it could be a knock sensor gone bad.
