Why is most of Australia unsuitable for agriculture?

Most of Australia is unsuitable for agriculture because of its arid and semi-arid climate, which results in low rainfall and poor soil quality. Additionally, the presence of deserts and other harsh environments makes it difficult to grow crops or raise livestock in many parts of the country.
