The Gobi Desert is generally colder than the Great Basin Desert. The Gobi, located in northern China and southern Mongolia, experiences harsh winters with temperatures that can drop below -40°F (-40°C). In contrast, the Great Basin Desert, primarily situated in the United States, has milder winter temperatures, rarely falling below 0°F (-18°C). Thus, the Gobi Desert is considered the coldest of the two.
