Millard Fillmore served as the 13th President of the United States from 1850 to 1853. He was also a member of the U.S. House of Representatives prior to his presidency. James Buchanan, the 15th President, held office from 1857 to 1861 and previously served as Secretary of State under President Franklin Pierce. Both Fillmore and Buchanan were prominent figures in the Democratic Party during their political careers.
