Why did Japan withdraw from the League of Nations?

Japan withdrew from the League of Nations as a result of the Manchurian Railway Incident in northen China. When the League did not support them and under pressure from other nations Japan withdrew as it no longer supported the concepts of the League. It has been revealed that Japan actually blew the railway up, blamed it on China, and used it as an excuse to invade and take control of Manchuria, just the first step in invading the whole of China! China appealed to the League of Nations, who ordered the Japanese government to stop the invasion. The government DID order the army to stop, but it refused and continued the invasion.
