How did Lincoln bring the south back after civil war?

Unfortunately, he did not have an opportunity to reconstruct the Nation, Southern States, or otherwise because he was assassinated 5 days after the Civil War ended.

General Lee's surrender to General Grant took place on April 9, 1865, and President Lincoln was shot April 14, 1865 and died the following day, April 15, 1865.
