Is a cat considered old at age one?

A one year old cat is like a 12 year old child. The average indoor cat lives around 16-19 years and vets consider them middle aged around ten or so. Cats aren't even done growing fully at age one! However, they can have kittens, so it's best to get your cat spayed or neutered around age seven months.
